Video: “The Future of Publishing” Affiliate Marketing Tips Concludes

ADOTAS – A while back, VigLink CEO Oliver Roup sat down with LinkTrust Systems president Bret GroweHealthdirector of business development Phillip Kidwell and Rakuten LinkShare director of client services Gary Warnes to talk about affiliate marketing from several sides of the issue, which became a three-part discussion for video series The Future of Publishing (you can see Part 1 here and Part 2 here). After rolling out the discussion gradually over the past couple weeks, now we have the conclusion. Here, the four execs talk about fraud and how to prevent it, as well as how to know which affiliate partners you should trust and how publishers can assure their sub-affiliates are legit. What are some red flags for fraud? How might one prevent fraud before it happens? How can technology help, and how important are human relationships? Here’s what they thought:

Now Zencart OSCommerce merchants can setup and start selling through affiliates in few hours.

(PRWEB) April 29, 2012

Euraffiliates (http://www.euraffiliates.com ), the Next-G Affiliate Software vendor introduces Amazon like Affiliate Widgets to display merchant products on the affiliate websites. This tool along with some other has changed the traditional concepts about setting up an in-house affiliate program.

Affiliate Software can multiply online sales but ….

Every Internet business owner knows that affiliate marketing can increase online sales dramatically. But despite that, not everyone succeeds with affiliate marketing. To get started they really need help from a variety of experts: web developers to install and integrate the system, graphics designers to design the banners, copy writers to write the advertisement copies, lawyers to draw the terms page and email marketer to send mass mail campaigns to find affiliates.

And most fail because they simply fail to line up all these experts and never really start affiliate marketing.

Euraffiliates has immediate solutions

Euraffiliates has made it simple for Zen Cart OSCommerce store owners. They don’t need to line up so many experts. Anyone having knowledge in FTP uploads and copy pasting can get started selling through affiliates in few hours.

Euraffiliates does it by automating all the pre-affiliate-marketing steps.

Automated Basic Installation

Euraffiliates Installation requires just uploading a single zipped source file (not even individual files to avoid extra time) along with few setup files and completing the setup wizard. No file to edit required. The video of the complete installation process is at http://youtu.be/dCXj0wSLQN4?hd=1

Online Theme and Content Customization

Merchants can upload the logo, change the look-and-feel and customize the affiliate page contents through online forms. The system has always default content to get started. It has even a standard affiliate terms page that can be customized.

Ready Integration for Zen Cart OSCommerce

To integrate with the website, all the merchants need to do is “copy the integration code from the system and paste it at the specified file in the website”.

Custom Ad Generations through Amazon like Affiliate Widgets

If merchants have 1000 products it is never possible for a merchant to create 1000 banners for each product. Again most affiliates will be interested to promote selected products only. Ideally they will want to display few desired products on their websites. An affiliate widget does exactly this. An affiliate can select the desired products, categories, and preview, customize the look, feel and save the settings, copy one line of codes to publish their websites. With just a copy paste method an affiliate website displays merchant’s products. Any change in the product info will automatically reflect in the affiliate websites.

The video of the widget setup at merchant panel and customization at affiliate panel is at http://youtu.be/dCXj0wSLQN4?hd=1

The simplest and Friendliest way of linking – Direct linking

The quick link and natural link has made the linking process simple and SEO safe. Affiliates can place natural links (http://www.domain.com/any-page.php) to any merchant web-page from a trusted affiliate domain. To make a domain trusted it takes only 2 minutes. Affiliates can share a quick link with their customers, friends. All they need to do is to add the affiliate marker (aid=XX) at the end of the merchant links before sharing or publishing.

It wasn’t so long ago when crafting a marketing budget was a simpler endeavor — you contended with a range of print publications, radio/TV spots, and tradeshows. Those were the good old times, when it was easy to look your boss in the eye and guarantee your marketing spend would come in at budget because you bought as much media as you could with the money they gave you.

Nowadays, we are lucky to have performance-marketing channels like online advertising and affiliate marketing to lean on. As business shifts to the web, marketers have been given a wonderful gift: the ability to monitor the success of their programs down to each individual sale.

However, it still seems like performance marketing is creating a bigger set of headaches for CMOs and marketing managers, rather than making their lives easier.

For instance, performance marketing is harder to budget because it comes from a different cost center due to its cost-per-acquisition nature. So, payment comes after successful sales.

In addition, when things are trackable, it means that you can optimize and improve performance. Tracking and optimization take energy and dedication, and setting aside time to learn new programs like Google AdWords, Skimlinks, etc. It also means that you might find data suggesting things aren’t going well.

Moreover, marketing managers are often told to “use their budget or lose it,” and it’s significantly more time consuming to manage performance-marketing budgets given the above, so some opt for the easy way out, which is avoidance.

While these are legitimate points, they can all be addressed with a proactive plan and clear discussions with your team on what you are looking to achieve. Don’t be pulled off task by other daily demands of your attention. A marketing model that guarantees you only spend money if you are getting more money back should definitely be getting more of your attention.

Determine your goals and strategy for achieving them before breaking down your budget

Across industries, it’s common to see an 80/20 split when it comes to budget allocation, with 80 percent reserved for brand marketing and the other 20 percent for performance-based activities like online advertising and affiliate marketing.

Following a set template might be a comfortable way to ease into the world of performance marketing, but is it the most effective?

Rather than follow arbitrary guidelines, step back and consider the marketing budget within the overall context of your company’s goals and growth stage.

What are your company’s primary objectives? Gaining market share? Demonstrating profitability pre-IPO? Acquiring new customers or retaining old ones? Building a strong brand? Most likely, it’s some combination of the above that will vary based on the stage of growth your company is in, but determining your priorities is the first step.

After determining your company’s top goals, it’s time to assess if and how performance marketing can help you achieve your strategy for getting there. This will help determine if the 20/80 allocation is right for your business (it’s probably not). There are a few common scenarios in which increasing the focus on performance marketing makes sense.

cloud domains affiliate marketing Affiliate Marketing, Can You Still Cash in on the Cloud Market?Affiliate Marketing and the Cloud Market

There’s a lot of money to be had in affiliate marketing cloud services, but if you didn’t buy a domain a few years back, then there’s really no point in trying to pick through the scraps.  The good cloud domain names were scooped up by savvy domainers, but considering the amount of money that can be made from the cloud industry; many of the good cloud domains are very reasonably priced at auction.  For the amount of money you can make on a couple of business sign-ups, you could easily afford a recognizable and marketable domain name from any number of auctions on the internet.

Cloud Hosting and Cloud Computing

Once you have secured a cloud domain, that is easy to rank, finding affiliate partnerships is the next step.  Most of the big named companies are offering highly competitive payouts.  Some are even offering money for free signups.  The domain name won’t do all of the work for you, you’ll need to use the same marketing techniques that you have found success with in other niches.  Even if this is your first attempt at affiliate marketing, the cloud computing and cloud hosting market is probably one of the best niches to start with.  Cloud services basically need very little selling acumen because the service sells itself.  Cloud customers are out there and because all of the cloud vendors are offering essentially the same services, features and deals, you’ll only need to have your website looking respectable to start getting leads.

Cloud Server Hosting Domains at Auction

Currently, there are a few cloud domains at auction on GoDaddy.  If you’ve been looking for your affiliate marketing niche and you think that the cloud might just be the one, then check out these finds for your next internet venture:
